About the Telfair Art Museum
Permanent Collection Tours Becoming an Artist (Grades 3-6) the "Women in Art" Girl Scout program expanded to two museums. Students visit the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace and Telfair Art Museum to learn about women artists and their training in earlier times. $2.50 admission to Telfair, $2.50 admission to Birthplace. Reservation must be made minimum of four weeks in advance.

Temporary Exhibition Programs

The Telfair offers programs (by appointment) for audiences with special needs, including touch tours for the visually impaired, signed tours for the hearing impaired, and outreach to the physically challenged. The Telfair also hosts an annual exhibiton of work by mentally and physically challenged artists. Most of these programs are free of charge. Call 232-1177 for more information.

Special touch tours focus on sculpture and paintings in the permanent collection. Tactile versions of Telfair paintings are available for handling in this program which also includes a studio acitivity. Offered free of charge with prior reservation. Sponsored by the City of Savannah Cultural Affairs/Leisure Services Bureau.
