Maxfield Parrish: Master of Make-Believe, September 28- November 27 (Telfair Museum of Art)
MAXFIELD PARRISH (1870-1966) was one of the best known and beloved American artists of the 20th century and a unique figure in American art, not belonging to any school, part traditionalist, part inventor. His success was due to his consummate mastery of the crafts of painting and illustration, and to the newly developed high-quality color printing techniques that aided the massive dissemination of his work.
